About Me

Welcome to A.T. Carpentry & Joinery

My name is Alan, I’m a qualified & experienced joiner based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme

I consider myself a woodworking artisan and hardwood specialist.

I’m a 5th generation tradesman, meaning my family has over a hundred years building experience, gained across the length and breadth of the country.

I am CSCS certified,  Health and Safety tested and NVQ qualified.

I am currently applying for certification for master craftsman level qualifications.

I’ve been involved in the building industry since I was 15, starting out with my uncle in my school holidays.

I went to college from the age of 16 to 18 to complete my NVQ.

I have spent years working with various firms under the eye of very talented carpenters and joiners. I feel this has given me greater learning and improving opportunities than I would have gained from a single teacher.

I have worked on some very prestigious projects, including the ex-chairman of Barings Bank’s Grade A* Listed, 700 year old, manor house with a project total of £7 million.

Buckland House, Oxfordshire, a restoration of a Lord’s Manor House, with an original construction date of 1757. This project won The Georgian Group’s Architectural award 2010, with acknowledgement of ‘skilled craftsmen’ in their review.
